Task 7- World building- Building the world of Pandora's Box

I want my target audience to experience different types of worlds and hopefully learn about how the seven sins of man can be perceived, different interpretations of these sins. Pride, envy, sloth, gluttony, wrath, lust and greed.

Where is the game going to be set?
My game will be set within an alternate universe in a country named the Wasteland that has 8 different kingdoms. Only three of these 8 kingdoms are inhabited by people and have a ruler, while the rest are unexplored and abandoned parts of the country. These kingdoms are said to be occupied by seven spirits that are known as the sins of man however, this is simply regarded as a myth. The assumed uninhabited parts of the kingdoms are named the Isles. Each of these kingdoms will be set with different backgrounds, themes and concepts according to the spirit that is said to be guarding that kingdom. Level 1 will be the Kingdom of Tempelis (sloth), Level 2 will be the Kingdom of Aplistia (greed), Level 3 will be the Kingdom of Lagneia (lust), Level 4 will be the Kingdom of Yperifaneia (pride) and Level 5 will be the final fight between the Princess and the Weasel. The Kingdom of Orgi (wrath),Kingdom of Laimargia (gluttony) and the Kingdom of Zilevo (envy) will not be shown as when the princess reaches that world, she discovers the artifacts for these worlds have been stolen by the weasel. She then goes back to the castle to fight the weasel over the artifact and the Kingdom in the one final boss battle.

What does the world look like?
There will be 8 different worlds, according with the 8 different levels and sins of Pandora's box.
As stated this country will have an appearance each according to the spirit inhabiting the Kingdoms domain. The first kingdom, the Kingdom of Elpida however is the only Kingdom that is not haunted by a sin which is why, this kingdom is regarded the most powerful. This Kingdom is where the adventure starts. This world introduces the consumer to the protagonist and the story and is set to be a vast world of brightly colored candy, as this kingdom is meant to invoke hope, happiness and all things sweet. This world will also be sweet like it's princess. With gumdrop trees, candy floss bushes and houses made out of sweets topped with icing for the roof. This will be one sweet kingdom and introduction. It will also be more effective on the consumer also, when corrupted too because it will be simple to turn the vast wonder of the consumer into disgust and despair when the Kingdom of Elpida falls into corruption.

The second world (level 1) will be the Kingdom of Tempelis, this world will take place in a luscious rainforest. With many beautiful trees and cloud-like grass and an abundance of fruit this forest will appear as a paradise for relaxing and leaving your worries behind you. In this level, the protagonist chooses a weapon and then proceeds to find the exit while fighting super cute forest creatures and trying to get past an entourage of guards that is also trying to capture the princess. The level is complete when she finds Acedia, the demon of sloth. This spirit offers the princess two beds, one bed is a fluffy bed decorated with flowers and warm light and the other is a bed of hard, sharp rocks that you have to shape to make it comfortable. If the player chooses the comfy bed she dies but if they chose the rocks the player will be given the first artifact, a olive tree branch and advances to the next level. This is to prove that the player is above the sin of sloth. When the player has chosen the other bed (the one for rocks) he/she is presented with a riddle "The damage is done by the three points not one" and will be transported into an undersea realm.

The third world will be the Kingdom of Aplistia (level 2), this world will take place underneath the sea on a sunken pirate ship. On this pirate ship will be an abundance of gold, jewels and treasures but it is guarded by a gigantic sea creature known as Avaritia. This is a timed level and the princess is given a few seconds to choose one item of three items a golden sword, a rusty pitch-fork and a jewel encrusted crossbow in order to fight the demon. Similarly with the previous test the princess must prove that she is above the sin of greed, once she chooses the rusty pitch-fork she turns to Avaritia and is able to defeat the demon in three swift jabs. She is the transported into another realm, a haunted forest.

This is the fourth world, the Kingdom of Lagneia (level 3). This takes place in a dark spooky forest, the princess once again is being pursued by guards and the forest is flanked with many ghosts, vampires and monsters. She then finds a handsome young man named Luxuria that leads her to a cabin deep into the woods, away from the guards. The cabin is warm and inviting and the princess notes a puzzle on the table, the young man offers the puzzle to her and says that he will look out for the guards. The princess then focuses back on the puzzle and begins to piece it together. After forming the puzzle, the picture now displays a disfigured person, half man and half monster with a red X on it's heart. She looks up to see that the man before her is now a growling wolf that is coming straight towards her. She is given the trident to fight with and to pass this level she has to stab the demon in it's heart. Once she has she will fine a heart of gold on the ground and a note saying "I'm the loneliest of all"after the demon is defeated. She is then transported into the fifth world, a big city full of bustle with a castle not too far behind.

The fifth world, the Kingdom of Yperifaneia (level 4). This takes place in a city, a civilization that rivals that of the Kingdom of Elpida this city is bustling and now the princess who is still chased by guards finds her way to the capital city hall where she meets Duke Superbia, the mayor of the town. He notices her skill in fighting and demands that she is put into a gladiator arena so that he can prove that he is the most powerful of all. She is then transported into a labyrinth, she is given a map and directions to the middle. In the middle all she sees is a giant mirror, this mirror shows the princess in two forms one, a wealthy, clean young lady in her castle and the other a poorly dressed girl in rags helping the homeless on the street. The princess must choose the life she would live, if she continues to pursue the challenge she will be in rags but if she turns around she will gain wealth and glory. Once the player chooses the rag appearance she will smash the mirror to reveal a golden crown in the middle of the maze. The Duke Superbia then gives the princess the artifact and proceeds to tell her that Lord Nyfista has already stolen the last three artifacts that she needs to complete her quest. The Duke then teleports the princess back to her Kingdom's throne room, where Lord Nyfista is waiting with  the three objects in hand.

This final battle takes place in the princesses's palace with the princess versing Lord Nyfista. She uses the space button to equip each of the artifacts that she has obtained while using the arrow keys to jump, move forward, back and using the down arrow key to attack. This battle will show both the life points of the princess and Lord Nyfista who uses his artifacts to transorm into creatures with the creature of envy being the ugliest, as I want the player to understand how jelousy is an ugly thing. His wrath transormation being a large overwhelming three eyed warrior whereas gluttony is a giant boar. The princess battles these sins with her own as to portray how the power of sins can destroy a person. I guess I also want this game to be educational for the player so they can discover more about both themselves and the sins of others. The player wins when the princess defeats Lord Nyfista and wins the crown. The world will then become full of color and life to exaggerate the "good vs evil theme" to make the player feel relief at their world being saved from sins and destruction.
