Game Thoughts
I reckon that I will name my game Pandora's Box following the Greek legend when a girl mistakenly releases a whole bunch of evil into the world.
I am also considering the time for play in each level. So the intro will probably imitate that of Scary Girl's intro a.k.a. a short approx 1 minute of a video that shows the corruption of the kingdom first through Princess Chardonnay's eyes, just so the player can understand her grief and horror as they are put in the eyes of the princess and are forced to watch their world collapse before their own eyes. I will also show the abuse that the princess takes from Duke Nyfitsa so that the consumer will feel both more involved in the destruction of the kingdom and take the banishment of Princess Chardonnay a bit personally as they feel that they are the princess. It will then show a full body shot of the princess watching her kingdom fall apart with innocent eyes, this is to ignite some sort of heroic instinct from the consumer.
Each level will then take 4 minutes of game play per level except for level 1 in the forest as this is the beginning level and so it will take the shortest time to complete so it will be 3 minutes.
That's it for now.

Game Purpose
I think she brings up good points such as if reality applied gaming conventions such as leveling up/giving the person tasks that are within their capabilities. This is so the consumer feels more positive towards their achievements or actually interested in new challenges as they believe that these challenges are within their reach. If reality just applied things like awarding a person for doing well or acknowledging a person for achieving some sort of level up, this society that retains a strong gaming ethic may become more motivated to apply these new skills and positive thinking towards challenges in reality. Her interesting message was that you create bonds when you play games with people as even though someone has beaten you really badly in a game you still create a sort of friendship or bond with each other. I agree as when playing a game with another person you actually get to learn some of their habits, traits and some of their quirks during the game play leading to the creation of trust as you continue to learn more about the other player. You learn things that you generally wouldn't even notice about a person. Games also don't give the player challenges that they can't achieve, as they are always training for these hard stages as they progress through the game. She thinks that games can change the world because of these good points however, reality is never as easy to be in control of as a game. In the gaming environment you know your role in life and you are placed into a controlled environment. It is controlled because even though there may be bombs going off or chaos erupting every where the gamer is at least expecting some of these things to happen.
This is where I think her theory is flawed as you can't control reality like you do in a game. Real life is messy, unfair and can be hard. There are no restart buttons, no guardian/map/oracle/event that is meant to guide you on your quest as in real life you don't get the luxury of straight up knowing what you have to do/what your mission is. You are not given a goal and it is unknown whether or not you get help along the way. And at least in games you can choose your purpose in life and are given tools to achieve it along the way you are not restricted by money, education or race as in a game they provide you with a multitude of possibilities for the player to earn money. In reality accessing resources is not this easy for some people due to the differences in power and society. And in reality you also have more commitments and there may not be a lot of chances to better yourself as some might not even notice such opportunities as in reality they are not as obvious.

Brief Requirements
I was going to make my game previously 7 levels in correspondence to the seven deadly sins however, I have decided to shorten it to 5 levels that are about 3-4 minutes each in order to create around 20 minutes of game-play. As 7 levels would have taken too long to complete and other than meeting the brief requirements I fear the player getting bored and including an introduction will chew up some time as well which would go past 20 minutes. So by making 5 levels I will also shorten the introduction video to 1 minutes.
Character Development
Character Profiles:
Protagonist: Princess Chardonnay
The rightful heir and princess of the Kingdom of Elphilia. She was banished from the kingdom and is left to live her life as prey for the notorious Lord Nyfitsa. A headstrong princess with pride and although she has lived her life sheltered from all the hardships of the world refuses to live her life as a weak damsel, so she vows to do what she must in order to take back her kingdom. Full of honor and integrity she is not the princess she used to be and she is definitely not naive anymore.
I wanted a female character as I also wanted more female players to be interested in the game and although my target audience is teenagers I want to introduce more girl's into gaming as well. I want Princess Chardonnay to serve as a sort of female role model in gaming if I can portray her right.
Special Ability: Every one in the Kingdom of Elphilia has the ability to separate their souls from their body but they cannot touch anything. But the members of the royal family are able to completely clone themselves and create a shield out of pure energy
Antagonist: Lord Nyfitsa
Also known as the weasel, Nyfitsa despises the crown and although he used to serve as the Princess's loyal pet he plotted his revenge everyday, waiting for the moment their beloved King would be weak enough for Nyfitsa to strike. A despicable creature who receives pleasure from the cruelty he brings upon others he wants everyone in the kingdom to be ashamed of the humble lives they lead. He is also bent on hunting down Princess Chardonnay as he wants to snuff out any source of rebellion, although he would rather end the princess himself in the most humiliating way possible.
Special Ability: He has an IQ of 160, basically meaning that he is super smart
Fun Fact: He granted himself with his own title, Lord Nyfitsa and he is also on the hunt for the artifacts
Demons:
Acedia: He doesn't care about anything and would much rather spend his days sleeping in a meadow somewhere rather than guarding this troublesome olive branch and gateway. I mean no one is ever going to come here right?
Appearance: Half man half satyr with small horns and brown skin

Special Ability: He has a flute in which he uses to put anything, even flowers to sleep.
Lady Avaritia: She is the queen of the sea, or so she says and she swims around the ocean trying to charm whatever or whoever she can so that they can come close enough for her to eat their soul.
Appearance: Half woman and half fish #amermaid, with hair flowing around her pretty face you will find it hard to believe that she is so dangerous.

Killing Technique: She engages her victim with a task so they don't realize her true intent creeping up to them.
Luxuria:
Appearance: A normal looking man that wonders the dark, creepy forests of the Kingdom of Lagneia. Turns into a wolf at will.
Special Ability: Strength and can voluntarily transform into a wolf.

Duke Superbia:
Appearence: Large and Wealthy. Duke Superbia considers himself both more sophisticated and high class than his demon siblings and can be found always looking down on people. The jeweler, the bank owner, the lady who makes the bread and yes even you, it's his favorite hobby.

Special Ability: Reflective Escape. Is able to create illusions to deceive any that may oppose him. This is why he created the labyrinth where all threats to him are lost.
Minor characters:
Guards: Sent by Duke Nyfitsa to hunt down Princess Chardonnay and search for the artifacts
Bugs: Random little insects or pests that attack the Princess and cause her to lose life points.

Audience Part 2: Music thoughts
I want my video game to provide a chance to escape for my audience and so I am also looking at importing engaging, mystical and almost fictional music and sounds into the game in order to contribute towards this purpose and to help the player forget where they are. I am not sure if I will be able to add music that contributes to the sin of the level but I will look into it after, as the music would also help to incorporate the type of genre I want to be felt in each level. Dark, slow and eerie for horror, fast paced, jumpy and alive for action/adventure, soft, flexible and hopeful for fantasy and so forth.

Audience
I want to consider how my target audience would feel about playing the game. I want the consumer to feel losta and confused at first in order to have the great feeling of accomplishing the game. Through each of the levels I want the consumer to get in touch with each of these sins to an extent of being able to recgonise the display of these sins in society. I want to engage the audience with a crumbling world to bring out the consumer's sense of morality and justice, I will then try to make the challenges harder throughout the levels but make them unique as to maintain the consumers interest in the game. Although I want the player to understand each of the world backgrounds as they are all built around the sin of that kingdom so the sloth world will entice the player to relax, the greed world will encourage the player to steal. Each of the artifacts that are found are also supposed to get the consumer to understand that there is more to things than what lies on the surface. A rusty-pitchfork vs a golden trident and a jewel encrusted crossbow or even a pretty reflection vs a more humble state all are supposed to encourage the player to consider the other possibilities in life.
By leaving the player riddles at the end of some levels also serves to peak the player's curiosity as to what lies around the next level as well as the intriguing proposition of solving a riddle that will lead to the selection of the next artifact. I also want the consumer to both hate and fear the weasel as I believe is what makes an effective villain as they will see him shaming the princess and throwing out of her kingdom while laughing at her demise. He also constantly sends hoards of men after her, both making her quest harder (as the numbers increase each level) and serves as a constant reminder of Lord Nyfistia's wish for the princess to fail in life in hopes that this will get on the player's nerves as this ugly creature is teasing them.
I want this game to be engaging from the intro video that will introduce the player to both the world and the characters. I will also make each level as different as possible in correspondence to the sin of that world in order to maintain the player's curiosity in the game by introducing new ideas, themes and concepts about the seven deadly sins.
Each level will contain approximately 3-4 minutes of game-play per level in order for my game to contain at least 20 minutes of game-play. My game will contain more than one genre in each level as to also maintain the interest of distracted teens but also be a constant platform for curiosity for members of the Gamefroot online community. So these genres will consist of action, fantasy, horror and adventure as only one genre for a game may become stale if the game lasts for 5 levels so I want to import new ways of grabbing the audience's attention.

Task 7- World building- Building the world of Pandora's Box
I want my target audience to experience different types of worlds and hopefully learn about how the seven sins of man can be perceived, different interpretations of these sins. Pride, envy, sloth, gluttony, wrath, lust and greed.
Where is the game going to be set?
My game will be set within an alternate universe in a country named the Wasteland that has 8 different kingdoms. Only three of these 8 kingdoms are inhabited by people and have a ruler, while the rest are unexplored and abandoned parts of the country. These kingdoms are said to be occupied by seven spirits that are known as the sins of man however, this is simply regarded as a myth. The assumed uninhabited parts of the kingdoms are named the Isles. Each of these kingdoms will be set with different backgrounds, themes and concepts according to the spirit that is said to be guarding that kingdom. Level 1 will be the Kingdom of Tempelis (sloth), Level 2 will be the Kingdom of Aplistia (greed), Level 3 will be the Kingdom of Lagneia (lust), Level 4 will be the Kingdom of Yperifaneia (pride) and Level 5 will be the final fight between the Princess and the Weasel. The Kingdom of Orgi (wrath),Kingdom of Laimargia (gluttony) and the Kingdom of Zilevo (envy) will not be shown as when the princess reaches that world, she discovers the artifacts for these worlds have been stolen by the weasel. She then goes back to the castle to fight the weasel over the artifact and the Kingdom in the one final boss battle.
What does the world look like?
There will be 8 different worlds, according with the 8 different levels and sins of Pandora's box.
As stated this country will have an appearance each according to the spirit inhabiting the Kingdoms domain. The first kingdom, the Kingdom of Elpida however is the only Kingdom that is not haunted by a sin which is why, this kingdom is regarded the most powerful. This Kingdom is where the adventure starts. This world introduces the consumer to the protagonist and the story and is set to be a vast world of brightly colored candy, as this kingdom is meant to invoke hope, happiness and all things sweet. This world will also be sweet like it's princess. With gumdrop trees, candy floss bushes and houses made out of sweets topped with icing for the roof. This will be one sweet kingdom and introduction. It will also be more effective on the consumer also, when corrupted too because it will be simple to turn the vast wonder of the consumer into disgust and despair when the Kingdom of Elpida falls into corruption.
The second world (level 1) will be the Kingdom of Tempelis, this world will take place in a luscious rainforest. With many beautiful trees and cloud-like grass and an abundance of fruit this forest will appear as a paradise for relaxing and leaving your worries behind you. In this level, the protagonist chooses a weapon and then proceeds to find the exit while fighting super cute forest creatures and trying to get past an entourage of guards that is also trying to capture the princess. The level is complete when she finds Acedia, the demon of sloth. This spirit offers the princess two beds, one bed is a fluffy bed decorated with flowers and warm light and the other is a bed of hard, sharp rocks that you have to shape to make it comfortable. If the player chooses the comfy bed she dies but if they chose the rocks the player will be given the first artifact, a olive tree branch and advances to the next level. This is to prove that the player is above the sin of sloth. When the player has chosen the other bed (the one for rocks) he/she is presented with a riddle "The damage is done by the three points not one" and will be transported into an undersea realm.
The third world will be the Kingdom of Aplistia (level 2), this world will take place underneath the sea on a sunken pirate ship. On this pirate ship will be an abundance of gold, jewels and treasures but it is guarded by a gigantic sea creature known as Avaritia. This is a timed level and the princess is given a few seconds to choose one item of three items a golden sword, a rusty pitch-fork and a jewel encrusted crossbow in order to fight the demon. Similarly with the previous test the princess must prove that she is above the sin of greed, once she chooses the rusty pitch-fork she turns to Avaritia and is able to defeat the demon in three swift jabs. She is the transported into another realm, a haunted forest.
This is the fourth world, the Kingdom of Lagneia (level 3). This takes place in a dark spooky forest, the princess once again is being pursued by guards and the forest is flanked with many ghosts, vampires and monsters. She then finds a handsome young man named Luxuria that leads her to a cabin deep into the woods, away from the guards. The cabin is warm and inviting and the princess notes a puzzle on the table, the young man offers the puzzle to her and says that he will look out for the guards. The princess then focuses back on the puzzle and begins to piece it together. After forming the puzzle, the picture now displays a disfigured person, half man and half monster with a red X on it's heart. She looks up to see that the man before her is now a growling wolf that is coming straight towards her. She is given the trident to fight with and to pass this level she has to stab the demon in it's heart. Once she has she will fine a heart of gold on the ground and a note saying "I'm the loneliest of all"after the demon is defeated. She is then transported into the fifth world, a big city full of bustle with a castle not too far behind.
The fifth world, the Kingdom of Yperifaneia (level 4). This takes place in a city, a civilization that rivals that of the Kingdom of Elpida this city is bustling and now the princess who is still chased by guards finds her way to the capital city hall where she meets Duke Superbia, the mayor of the town. He notices her skill in fighting and demands that she is put into a gladiator arena so that he can prove that he is the most powerful of all. She is then transported into a labyrinth, she is given a map and directions to the middle. In the middle all she sees is a giant mirror, this mirror shows the princess in two forms one, a wealthy, clean young lady in her castle and the other a poorly dressed girl in rags helping the homeless on the street. The princess must choose the life she would live, if she continues to pursue the challenge she will be in rags but if she turns around she will gain wealth and glory. Once the player chooses the rag appearance she will smash the mirror to reveal a golden crown in the middle of the maze. The Duke Superbia then gives the princess the artifact and proceeds to tell her that Lord Nyfista has already stolen the last three artifacts that she needs to complete her quest. The Duke then teleports the princess back to her Kingdom's throne room, where Lord Nyfista is waiting with the three objects in hand.
This final battle takes place in the princesses's palace with the princess versing Lord Nyfista. She uses the space button to equip each of the artifacts that she has obtained while using the arrow keys to jump, move forward, back and using the down arrow key to attack. This battle will show both the life points of the princess and Lord Nyfista who uses his artifacts to transorm into creatures with the creature of envy being the ugliest, as I want the player to understand how jelousy is an ugly thing. His wrath transormation being a large overwhelming three eyed warrior whereas gluttony is a giant boar. The princess battles these sins with her own as to portray how the power of sins can destroy a person. I guess I also want this game to be educational for the player so they can discover more about both themselves and the sins of others. The player wins when the princess defeats Lord Nyfista and wins the crown. The world will then become full of color and life to exaggerate the "good vs evil theme" to make the player feel relief at their world being saved from sins and destruction.

Step 1
Task 6- Boiling it Down
In my game I am looking to have a female protagonist. Her kingdom is the eighth out of the lands that is home to the object of hope. This protagonist is the rightful heir to the throne of the kingdom (candy land theme) and was cast out of her kingdom by her pet weasel (will figure out the name later) who has overthrown the king and is now looking to kill the princess in order to secure his place on the throne. She then finds an old man who was once an adviser to the king but was banished thanks to the weasel. He then tells the princess that the only way for her to reclaim her throne is to travel throughout the seven kingdoms known as the Isles in order to collect the seven objects that will give her the powers to rule the Wastelands (the country) and therefore take back her kingdom from the weasel. She then sets on her journey to recover these 7 artifacts while fighting onslaughts of assassins and guards sent by the weasel and completing 7 different challenges demanded by the evil spirits possessing the objects. The game ends with a final boss battle as the protagonist discovers that the weasel has also taken the last object preventing the protagonist from achieving her goal. She then goes back to her homeland and fights the weasel in a "final boss battle" in which she uses her training and power of her six objects to battle the weasel who has the most powerful seventh object. These seven objects are set in locations that physically represent the seven deadly sins of man envy, sloth, gluttony, wrath, greed, pride and lust.
